Plantar Fasciitis

Inflammation Along the Bottom of Your Foot Can Cause Heel Pain

One of the most common injuries related to sports that we see at Smith Chiropractic is Plantar Fasciitis. The injury can occur when people run for long periods of time, have high arches, falling arches, or are flat-footed. The most common complaint from Plantar Fasciitis is a burning, stabbing, or aching pain in the heel or foot.

Happily drive 25 minutes one-way to see Dr. Smith… and, have done so since 2005.  I was hesitant to visit a chiropractor yet desperate as neither physical therapy nor medication were solving my limited mobility and constant discomfort.  Initially, Dr. Smith corrected my neck, lower back and hip stiffness and pain; now, it’s periodic adjustments for overall health. Dr. Smith, his staff and their holistic care are simply the best!

Dr. Pat Smith has kept me vertical, on the golf course and exercising consistently for about twenty years.

As an elderly male, I have experienced several orthopedic events including three major back surgeries requiring fusions, stabilizing metal rods and screws, a total knee replacement, a torn rotator cuff, a torn bicep tendon and other problems. Through it all, regular appointments with Dr. Smith provided a thorough therapeutic program to be implemented on the range of challenges I presented. I could not be more enthusiastic and grateful for his care.

I have engaged a number of chiropractic professionals over the years but none has been as effective as Dr. Smith. He has a highly unusual gift in quickly diagnosing problems and implementing a course of therapy. Sometimes it may be a simple adjustment or two, other situations may require a series of sessions to get to a more stable condition. He is not looking for a lifetime of appointments – he wants to treat it, fix it and get you back to fully functioning as quickly as possible.

Dr. Smith’s care has improved the quality of my life in unexpected ways. Being an active participant in family gatherings, games and more with my children, grandchildren and friends has always been an important part of my life – and it still is! He has helped enable that pleasure to continue.

Finally, Pat often surprises me with his broad knowledge of health and wellness beyond the field of chiropractic care. I have found his insight to be very informative, resulting in his often being my go-to guy on a range of health related questions.

I highly recommend Dr. Pat Smith without reservation as a major resource in maintaining overall health.

If you were to ask any one of my three children/athletes what the key to their success has been, Dr. Smith would be recognized as one of the keys to their success.  His deep knowledge of how to treat athletes has allowed them to play through their injuries, rather than taking a significant amount of time off from their sport, along with his ability to understand and quickly diagnose a problem, in my opinion, has prevented more severe issues. He has treated many of my children’s injuries from recovery after broken bones, shoulder tendonitis, pinched nerves, hip flexor problems, and a torn calf muscle.  The reality is that athletes get hurt, getting on top of an injury is key, with Dr. Smith able to provide the necessary treatment required to prevent more significant problems. He is always quick with an answer, suggests additional exercises to strengthen problem areas, and has even come in the office on a day off to “tape up my soccer player” before a big game or tryout.  This brand of alternative medical care has been a godsend, as it has prevented us from turning to more traditional treatments such as pain medication. His caring nature has always served as a source of comfort, as he truly looks after the best interests of his patients.

What Our Patients Say

Paul G.
auto accident
“I was not a stranger to chiropractic; I had seen two or three doctors previous to the accident. But it was at this time that I had the great good fortune to meet and be treated by Dr. Patrick Smith. Dr. Smith is an extraordinary diagnostician and superb practitioner of his science and art. As pain and stiffness worsened Pat developed a course of treatment that was, and is, most effective in keeping me mobile, flexible and almost, but not entirely, pain free.”
Kay L.
shoulder replacement
“Treatment at Smith Chiropractic has been unerringly professional, kind and so highly intelligent that my 40 years of hospital work has led me to make Smith Chiropractic my first stop whenever I need to consider surgery or medical care or make medical decisions.”
